Terms Of Service

MEMBERSHIP

  1. By accepting membership with WAKU, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

  2. There is no minimum membership term and either you or WAKU may cancel the membership at any time in writing.

RENT

Membership fees are payable monthly in advance and will be deducted from your credit card or via direct debit from your nominated bank account. A penalty fee of $10 will apply to rejected payments and interest may be charged at 5% above BBSY.

You will receive at least 14 days’ notice of changes in membership fees.

SERVICES

Payment for use of additional services or amenities (such as photocopying) will be direct debited in a subsequent payment run. An internet connection is available for unlimited access, however, WAKU reserves the right to bar connection in the case of excessive or illegal use.

INSURANCE

You agree that you are solely responsible for the security of your property in the workspace. It is your responsibility to arrange insurance for your own property which you bring to the workspace and for your own liability to your employees and to third parties. Waku strongly recommends that you put such insurance in place.

  • Waku has the right to withhold services, restrict entry into the workspace and shall have a general lien on all of your property physically situated on any part of Waku premises:

    1. where you have failed to pay for rent or services in accordance with this agreement: or

    2. where you have breached any term of this agreement and fail to remedy that breach within seven days of being requested by Waku to do so.

LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted under the law:

  1. Waku, its related bodies corporate, their officers, employees, contractors and agents (“Waku Parties”) shall not be liable for any theft, loss or damage from the workspace howsoever occurring or for any damage done to the furniture or other effects of any other member in the workspace by the caretaker, cleaners or any employees, contractors, agents or invitees of Waku.

  2. The Waku Parties shall not be liable for any loss, damage or loss of information resulting from communications or data failure including voice, communication and the Internet.

  3. The Waku Parties shall not be liable for any loss, damage, corruption of data or any loss of information whether from hardware, software or Internet damage that may occur to a member during the term of this Agreement.

This clause “Liability” survives termination of this Agreement.

WAKU STAFF

All members are required to treat Waku staff and other members with respect. No abuse or misconduct of any kind will be tolerated and will result in the immediate termination of your membership.

VISITORS

All visitors of Waku members entering our space must sign in at reception.

If you have someone visiting the space while you are not there, who requires access to your workspace, please ensure you let us know in advance as without permission from you, they will not be given access to your space, this includes visitors, contractors and couriers.

Visitors are not permitted inside the space after hours without our knowledge and all doors are to remain closed. Waku staff must be notified by email if you wish to bring visitors outside regular staffing hours of Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm.

USE AND CARE OF PREMISES

Members must:

  1. Take care of the Premises and to keep working area in a clean condition;

  2. Not sleep overnight;

  3. Not smoke on our Premises; and

  4. Not use the Premises for any immoral or illegal purposes.

  5. Not consume any illicit drugs or take advantage of the fair use policy when consuming alcohol from the bar fridge.

AGREEMENT TO TERMS

By commencing a membership with Waku, you agree to be bound by these terms as amended from time to time. A breach in terms and conditions may result in immediate termination of your membership without a refund.
